Confidence Through Practice: Securing an E-Commerce Internship at Reckitt
Anael Oliveros Aguilar (BBA ’27) has secured an E-commerce Intern position with Reckitt, marking an exciting milestone in her career journey.
Oliveros Aguilar first strengthened her application materials by meeting with the Schulich Centre for Career Design (CCD), where she worked with Dali Cela, Career Design Advisor, on refining her resume. Through this session, she identified opportunities to better showcase relevant academic projects and learned how to present her experiences more clearly and effectively using CCD templates. This early support helped set a strong foundation for her job search.
As she progressed to the interview stage, Oliveros Aguilar actively engaged with the CCD for targeted preparation. She met with Christopher Symonds, Career Design Advisor, to develop a structured approach to behavioral and case-based interview questions, helping her understand key areas of focus and effective response strategies. Following her first-round success, she further prepared for her final in-person interview, which included behavioral questions and a P&L assessment, through multiple mock interview sessions with Cela. These sessions provided a realistic interview environment, detailed feedback, and personalized guidance, allowing her to refine her answers and identify gaps in her preparation.
Reflecting on her experience, Oliveros Aguilar shared: “Through actionable feedback and a realistic interview environment, the CCD truly helped me navigate my interviews with confidence, ultimately enabling me to secure a fantastic summer internship.”
Her journey highlights the value of proactive engagement with CCD resources, from early resume development to intensive interview preparation, in securing competitive internship opportunities.
