My current interest is in Entrepreneurship, where I focus on investigating how to nurture and stimulate entrepreneurship in developing economies. I have a particular interest in Africa. Research indicates that small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are a significant source of economic and employment growth, and many developing economies are striving to nurture this sector by nurturing entrepreneurship. My interests lie in exploring and understanding how this process unfolds via some of the following questions: 1) Are there approaches to entrepreneur development that are especially effective? 2) Why are some societies more entrepreneurial? Does culture play a role? Through which mechanisms? 3) Are effective practices and policies that advance entrepreneurship rates cross-culturally replicable?
