Trina McQueen, O.C.

Schulich’s first Visiting CTV Professor in Broadcast Management, Trina McQueen has held senior executive and journalistic positions in the public and private sectors of Canadian television. She has been President and COO of CTV Inc; was the founding President of the Discovery Channel; and head of News Current Affairs and Newsworld for CBC. She has served on the Boards of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Telefilm Canada, and the National Film Board Advisory Group. She was chair of the Banff Television Festival and of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters television board. For her services to broadcasting, she was made an officer of the Order of Canada in 2005. She has been named a member of the Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame, the Canadian News Hall of Fame and the Canadian Movie and Television Hall of Fame. Other awards include Canadian Journalism Foundation Award of Excellence and the Academy Achievement Gemini.

She is currently a Board member for the Canadian Opera Company, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Banff Centre for the Arts, Historica Canada, and the Literary Review of Canada.
