About Vijay Setlur
Vijay Setlur is a Marketing Instructor with Schulich School of Business-York University and has been teaching the Tourism Sport and Leisure Marketing course (MKTG 4320) since 2009. In the industry, Vijay is a Marketing Instructor with the Professional Football Development department of Concacaf (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football), the governing body of soccer for North America, Central America and Caribbean, based in Miami, USA.
Vijay also serves as Faculty Advisor for Schulich’s undergraduate sport business club – York Sports Business Association – and has collaborated with the club to develop and stage career-centric industry events, including Schulich’s annual Sports, Media & Entertainment Career Fair, which he founded in 2015 and is the only event of its kind in Canada. Vijay also provides analysis on sport business developments to the media, with his insights appearing in over 230 stories for various outlets including The Canadian Press, The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Bloomberg, BNN Bloomberg, CTV News Channel, CTV Toronto, CBC, CBC News Network, Global TV, CITY-TV, CP24, CHCH TV, CBC Radio and 680 News, among others.
Vijay has a Master of Business Administration degree from Schulich School of Business-York University, specializing in marketing, as well as certificates in Public Relations and Event Management from Ryerson University in Toronto and The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. USA, respectively. He also holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson.
