After working in commercial real estate banking, Mr. Iaboni founded the Berkley Group of Companies in 1996 with a small residential development. Since that time, the company has completed over 40 real estate development projects representing over 3,500 single-family homes and condominium units. The Berkley Group has also completed the acquisition of over $500 million of income producing assets across Southern Ontario, and 4 different States in the US. The financing division has placed over $400 million in mezzanine financing throughout North America. The company has evolved in the past few years to become a Private Equity Group and includes diversified investments in five automotive dealerships in Florida and New York, an automated vending machine manufacturing company with factories in the US and Mexico, a litigation finance company, and several fast food franchises in the Chicago area.
Mr. Iaboni is a graduate of the BBA (1993) and MBA (1994) programs at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He was the winner of the Alan and Esther Hockin award for highest GPA in the BBA program and received the Gold Medal in the MBA. Mr. Iaboni has been an adjunct professor of real estate at the Schulich School of Business since 2000 and is a two-time recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award.
