Aleem joined the Schulich School of Business in 2011 and was the first and youngest Professor to win the Schulich Teaching Excellence Award in his first year of teaching. Aleem has taught marketing management, social media, brand management, digital marketing and consumer behaviour in the BBA, MBA and Master of Marketing programs at the Schulich School of Business. He was appointed as the Assistant Director of the Schulich Centre for Teaching Excellence (SCTE), responsible for new faculty training sessions. Aleem was rated in the Top 10 Undergraduate Professors at Schulich 4 years in a row from 2015-2018. Aleem has also taught students in the Executive MBA Programs from the University of Salzburg. He developed the first blended in-class and online training on Social Media for the Schulich Executive Education Center (SEEC). He conducted Corporate Executive training courses on Marketing Metrics for Loyalty One (Air Miles) and Digital Marketing in Insurance for China Pacific Insurance at SEEC. He developed and taught a 4-part webinar series on digital marketing for small businesses for the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and a course on Digital Transformation for the Indo Canadian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC). He has been a keynote speaker for Advocis, Empire Life, Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE), the Economic Planning Board of Ontario, Arrow Professionals and the Richard Ivey School of Business Alumni Association. Aleem was the Faculty Chair for Apex, the largest student run business Conference in North America, and a judge for the Schulich MBA Business Case Competition. Aleem volunteers on the Board for the Finance and Accounting Professionals Alliance (FAPA) and on the National Board for World Partnership Walk & Golf. Aleem is also a volunteer Ski Instructor with the Canadian Association of Downhill Disabled Skiing (CADDS).
Aleem Visram has over a decade of marketing management experience with several global fortune 100 companies, including Pfizer, American Express, Kraft, Novartis and Tata. After graduating from the Honors Business Administration (HBA) program at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, Aleem joined American Express to work on credit card acquisition for the Membership Rewards and Air Miles credit cards. Aleem then spent a year working as a Program Manager for Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC), setting up schools for girls in remote areas of Afghanistan. Upon returning to Canada, Aleem was appointed as a Global Youth Ambassador by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Aleem returned to the Richard Ivey School of Business to complete his MBA degree and graduated on the Dean’s Honors List in 2006. Aleem then joined Kraft as the Marketing Manager on Tassimo, the largest new product launch in Kraft Canada’s history. He moved on to a re-branding of Maxwell House, that won the best overall marketing campaign from the Canadian Marketing Association in 2008. From there he joined Novartis Consumer Health Care as the Cough and Cold Category Manager, responsible for Buckley’s, Neocitran, Otrivin and Triaminic marketing. In 2010 Aleem moved to Tetley (Tata Beverages) to work on their Global Innovations Team to develop and implement their global packaging redesign and launch of Tetley Infusions.
