The Schulich International MBA (IMBA) is a specialized MBA program for Canadian and international students who want to launch a career in international business and stand out from the crowd. The IMBA is a full-time program for the first year with the option to go part-time in year two.
An IMBA offers all of the benefits of Schulichās MBA program, with several additional components. IMBA students:
- complete an international work term between first and second year (work in Canada if you are an international student or abroad if you are a Canadian student);
- hone their proficiency in another language (we support language training in English, French, Spanish, German, Mandarin and Japanese); and
- are part of a small cohort that completes the first year of the program together, providing students with personal friendships and professional contacts that will last a lifetime.
In the second year of the IMBA program you can customize your studies by choosing and combining from the 18 MBA specializations of Canadaās top-ranked MBA program.

The IMBA consists of four academic terms for which tuition is charged, and one work term for which there is no tuition fee. A term is equivalent to one semester, or 12 weeks.
Year 1 of the program (Terms 1 and 2) must be completed full-time. Students have the option to study part-time in Year 2 of the program.
Fees below are based on the 2020-2021 fee framework, and are subject to change.

Electives
IMBA students must take a minimum of 24.00 credits of elective courses, and can take advantage of any specialization offered at Schulich. Unless a prerequisite is specified for a particular specialization, studentsĀ are free to select their electives.
IMBA students are encouraged to add a second functional specialization to their degree and require only 9.00 credits to fulfill a specialization requirement.
