Schulich’s Krembil Centre Announces New Healthcare Leadership Summit

The Krembil Centre for Health Management and Leadership, Schulich’s hub for health industry education, research, and outreach, is inviting students and alumni to its second virtual Leadership Summit. Titled ‘Workplace Culture, Talent, and Leadership in the COVID Era’, the Summit will take place Wednesday March 30, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm EDT via Zoom.
“The pandemic has illuminated long-standing structural challenges and instigated new ways of working in healthcare,” said Joseph Mapa, Krembil Chair in Health Management and Leadership. “We are pleased to bring together global leaders on the important theme of the future of the workplace culture in the healthcare sector.”

The Summit’s panel consists of leaders in healthcare and technology who will speak to unforeseen shifts in labour dynamics, the enduring implications of workplace attrition and burnout, and provide an examination of the leadership skills needed to lead in the Covid and post-Covid era.
“Preparedness plans and evidence-based guidelines have proven insufficient to guide actions,” said Senior Krembil Fellow Dr. Abi Sriharan. “In addition to task-oriented competencies… people-oriented and adaptive-oriented competencies are fundamental in overcoming the structural, political, and cultural contexts unique to pandemics.”
The Krembil Centre and the upcoming Summit are made possible by a $5-million gift from the Krembil Foundation and Schulich graduate Robert Krembil (MBA ’71, Hon LLD ’00).
