Schulich’s 6th Annual Supply Chain Research Forum Tackles Canada’s Most Urgent Challenges
On June 5–6, 2026, the Schulich School of Business hosted its 6th Annual Supply Chain Research Forum, bringing together participants from more than fourteen universities, alongside industry leaders and policymakers, to tackle emerging challenges shaping the future of supply chains.
The forum is an annual initiative organized by the George Weston Ltd. Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains at Schulich School of Business, York University, one of Canada’s leading hubs for supply chain research and education. Each year, the event convenes top academic researchers from across Canada alongside practitioners to advance dialogue and drive collaboration on emerging industry challenges.
This year’s program featured research presentations, panel discussions, PhD development sessions, and networking opportunities designed to bridge the gap between academic insights and real-world practice. Sessions tackled some of Canada’s most pressing supply chain issues including the bottlenecks slowing housing and infrastructure development, the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in building domestic capacity, the transformative potential of AI and analytics, and the sustainability challenges that demand urgent attention, all in pursuit of the forum’s central theme: building more efficient and resilient supply chains.

Centre for Sustainable Supply Chains. “The 2026 forum demonstrated exactly that, bringing together some of the country’s leading researchers to advance dialogue and spark meaningful collaboration across institutions.”
Planning is now underway for the 7th Annual Research Forum to be hosted in 2027 at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, with support from Asper’s Department of Supply Chain Management.
