Schulich To Host Supply Chain Canada Leadership Conferences

In the upcoming school year, Schulich has a commitment from Supply Chain Canada to host three blended thought leadership conferences for industry that will involve current Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) students: Digital Transformation in Supply Chain – January 28th, 2021; Sustainable Supply Chain – February 25th, 2021; and Women in Supply Chain – March 25th, 2021. Schulich professors David Johnston, Murat Kristal and Johnny M. Rungtusanatham will also participate in a fireside chat at the 2020 Supply Chain Canada National Conference in October.
Lucie Wang (MSCM ’20) participated in the inaugural Sustainable Supply Chain conference in February 2020 and gained the opportunity to network with attendees from different backgrounds and various industries within the supply chain sector. “It was fascinating to learn from all different angles, about the real work people were doing in their various fields,” Wang said.
Along with five of her MSCM peers, Wang also created a deliverable for conference participants. Using case studies from companies that already have sustainable practices, the document they created offers advice for companies looking to go green.
“Our deliverable showcased how companies can reduce carbon emission in their supply chain and remain profitable,” she said.
Wang believes her attendance was an invaluable way to learn about real life practices and to build personal connections to assist with her career in the burgeoning sustainable supply chain field.
