Schulich School of Business Launches Part-Time Master of Finance Degree
TORONTO, ON – Tuesday, January 21, 2020 – York University’s Schulich School of Business today announced the launch of its new Part-Time Master of Finance degree.
The Part-Time degree will begin in September 2020 and enables business professionals to earn a Master of Finance degree while they work. The new 24-month program offers two evening classes per week just steps from the office at Schulich’s downtown campus, conveniently located at King and Bay in the heart of Toronto’s financial district. The degree will lead to financial sector careers in asset management, investment banking and risk management. Schulich’s Part-Time Master of Finance Program will also provide students with an accelerated pathway to a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation – one of the most highly valued and globally recognized professional credentials in the world of finance.
The Program will place a strong emphasis on real-world applications and context, with topics covering critical issues in governance, ethics and the legal aspects of finance. Students will also participate in Finance Research Seminars and will specialize in Capital Markets.

As part of today’s official launch of the Part-Time Master of Finance Program at its downtown campus, Schulich will host a panel discussion on the future of finance. Guest panelists include:
- Moshe Milevsky, Professor of Finance at the Schulich School of Business, ranked among the top researchers in the world in the field of insurance risk management;
- Daniel Straus, Vice President – Research Analyst – ETF Research and Strategy at the National Bank of Canada and a Schulich Master of Finance graduate from the Class of 2010;
- Valeriya Kolobashkina, Senior Manager, Business Insights – Strategy & Client, Global Banking and Markets at Scotiabank and a Schulich Master of Finance graduate from the Class of 2014; and
- Vincent Chang, Vice President, Private Debt and LDI Portfolio Management at TD Asset Management and a Schulich Master of Finance graduate from the Class of 2011.
The panel session will be followed by a networking reception with prospective students, alumni and faculty.
