Schulich Enhances Accounting Program with New DIAc in India

Starting May 2023, Schulich will welcome students to the new Diploma in Intermediate Accounting in India (DIAc in India) program. The eight-month Diploma allows students to complete their first term in India and second term in Canada.

“The new India DIAc program offers a unique pathway for Indian students desiring to enter the global accounting profession to obtain the Schulich MAcc degree, which emphasizes critical thinking, analytical and communication skills,” said Program Director Shanker Trivedi.
The DIAc in India retains the core elements of Schulich’s traditional DIAc program. The curriculum is designed to thoroughly introduce students to accounting concepts such as reporting, analysis, capital structure and financial planning.
However, students admitted to the India DIAc program will complete Term 0 of the program in Schulich’s Hyderabad, India campus and then join the rest of the DIAc students in Toronto from Term 1 onwards.
“The same instructors who teach in our Toronto campus will also teach in the India DIAc program, exposing students from day 1 to our renowned Schulich Accounting Case Method, allowing them to excel on the Common Final Exam of CPA Canada and to become the future leaders of the profession,” said Trivedi.
Upon completion, students are equipped to enter Term 2 of the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program, and then proceed to write the Common Final Examination (CFE) with CPA Canada.
