Giving back runs in the family
Giving back is a long-standing family tradition for the Ierullos. In celebration of their daughter Hannah’s graduation from Schulich, husband and wife Bruno and Naomi Ierullo gave a gift to the Schulich Annual Fund.
“As a family, we have always felt it is important to sow a seed of our time, energy and money into our educational systems, communities, and above all, families. Family is all about giving. We believe that everyone should learn to be a giver. We train our children in saving money and giving to charities,” said Hannah’s father Bruno.
Because of Hannah’s parents’ leadership support in honour of her, Hannah has become the first Dean’s Society member from the BBA Class of 2016. The Society is Schulich’s premier leadership giving association that aims to build a strong community of alumni leaders and philanthropists. Hannah joins a growing group of Dean’s Society members, whose generous support makes it possible for the School to invest in new technology, pioneering programs and innovative research that keep our School a transformative leader in global management education.
Hannah’s mother Naomi states: “Our motivation in giving to Schulich is to celebrate our daughter and the success that she has had at the School. Her graduation is a milestone in her life! Now she has chosen to come back to Schulich to complete the Master of Accounting. We are pleased with her decisions. Therefore to make a gift in line with her choices – to give her a Dean’s Society membership seems logical to us. As a staff member myself, I know the benefits for her of being a part of this small group of alumni who value the School’s mission and vision.”
Bruno and Naomi hope to inspire fellow Schulich parents to join them and start a family tradition of giving back.
