Garber and Fisher Win Undergraduate Teaching Excellence Awards
The ten top-rated BBA and iBBA program instructors at Schulich received the Seymour Schulich Teaching Excellence Award at the Undergraduate Business Society Gala this month. The student-driven award is adjudicated based on Seymour Schulich’s vision for teaching excellence, which includes knowledge, enthusiasm, exceptional communication, and teaching innovation. This year’s diverse cohort taught a wide range of courses, including Accounting, Finance, Data Management, and Brand Management.
“The Teaching Excellence Awards are one of the highest academic honours bestowed by our School on the instructors that our students consider to be among the very best,” said Schulich Dean Detlev Zwick. “We applaud and congratulate this year’s nominees. They shared their expertise and enthusiasm for the business subjects they taught, and they contributed to creating an excellent overall student learning experience.”
Instructor Alex Garber won first prize and Adjunct Professor Alex Fisher placed second. They received $15,000 and $10,000 respectively. Recipients will also be celebrated during Spring Convocation and showcased in the Seymour Schulich Teaching Excellence Awards Hall of Fame in the Schulich building.
