Associate Professor of Marketing
Detlev Zwick is Dean of the Schulich School of Business at York University, where he guides the School in its mission to develop purpose-driven leaders who aspire to make a difference in business and society.
Under Dean Zwick’s leadership, Schulich is focused on several key strategic initiatives, including delivering a world-class, transformative student learning experience, program innovation, high-impact research and positioning the School at the leading edge of the digital transformation reshaping business.
Prior to becoming Dean, Dr. Zwick served in a number of increasingly senior academic and administrative roles, including Director of Schulich’s BBA/iBBA Program and Associate Dean, Academic, during which he led the School’s rapid transition to remote online learning following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. He was also a member of the York University Senate and represented Schulich on the Senate Executive Committee.
Dean Zwick is an early pioneer in digital marketing and his research focuses on new marketing technologies and their impact on consumer behaviour. He is co-editor of the book Inside Marketing: Practices, Ideologies, Devices (Oxford University Press), and frequently provides expert commentary to the media.

Professor of Accounting
Kiridaran (Giri) Kanagaretnam, MSEE (Purdue), PhD (Syracuse), ACMA (U.K.), CPA, CMA, CGA is the Ron Binns Chair in Financial Reporting, Banking and Governance and Associate Dean Students at the Schulich School of Business. Giri has previously served as the Program Director for Master of Management. Before joining York University in 2013, Giri was a Professor of Accounting and Financial Management Services and Associate Dean (Academic) at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University. He has also been a visiting professor at Nanyang Technological University, HEC Paris and Erasmus University. His research focuses on financial institutions in particular bank stability, excessive risk-taking and financial reporting transparency. At Schulich, Giri has taught courses in the PhD, MBA, IMBA, India MBA, MAcc, MMgt and BBA programs.

Executive Director of Student Services & International Relations
Lindsay Hillcoat is the Executive Director of Student Services & International Relations at the Schulich School of Business. She is a Schulich MBA ’10, and has spent the past eleven years in a variety of admissions and international relations leadership roles within Schulich. Prior to joining Schulich, Lindsay’s early career was spent working with social entrepreneurs and in the non-profit sector here in Toronto and internationally in West Africa and South Asia.
