• Updates to Schulich Current Student Services

    In light of recent COVID-19 public health sanctions and measures, effective Thursday, March 19, 2020 York University has moved to offer only required services on its campuses. Schulich has successfully moved all academic courses and student services online.

    Students are encouraged to review all recent York University communications regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

    During this time, we’re committed to helping you complete the academic term and supporting your success.

Updates to Schulich Student Services

Academic Advising

Your advising team in Student & Enrolment Services is currently working remotely. Staff are keeping regular operating hours, advising in a virtual format, and communicating digitally. Kindly allow for longer than normal response time as e-mail volume will be high.

Regular academic services such as enrolment appointments, petitions and appeals processes, student onboarding and program orientations will continue online. 

Students can book 1-1 virtual advising appointments via telephone, Zoom or Skype.

Processing Academic Forms

The office of the Division of Student Services and International Relations in SSB W263 and the Seymour Schulich Building are closed, effective Thursday, March 19. 

We will continue to electronically process administrative forms in the Academic Forms Database, such as Student Letter Requests.

International students can continue to access services offered by International Relations.

Immigration Advising
Appointments continue to be accessible via Zoom, Skype, and phone. Book your appointment online (graduate advising; undergraduate advising). Immigration sessions on work permits and permanent residence will continue to be offered virtually. Watch your email for details on any upcoming sessions.

English Language Support
The English Language Peer Support program is now being offered remotely. Both individual appointments as well as the Conversation Groups (now “English Cyber Chats”) are being offered online. Learn more about virtual ELPS here.

Library Services & Bookstore

The Bronfman Business Library has moved online as of Wednesday, March 18, 2020. All print resources are no longer accessible.

Real Time Support
Students can get business research help from the library’s Ask a Question website, a service that allows students to connect with a York librarian on demand, in real time.

Virtual Consultation Services with Librarians
For in-depth research assistance, students can book Zoom consultations with a subject matter librarian or the data services team.

Business Research
Students can also consult the library’s online business research guides, as well the Business Research at York Toolkit to view videos and PDF resources to help them with their business research questions.

York University Bookstore

The YorkU Bookstore is still processing online orders, while the store remains closed.

Students can search for course materials and kits online. Shipping is free for all course materials within Canada for the Summer term.

Career Development Services

The Career Development Centre is committed to supporting you throughout your career journey. Their services are all continuing online. These include:

CDC Advising appointments
Book one-one Zoom appointments with an Industry Advisor or Certified Coach on Handshake.

Daily CDC Career Update

All current students will automatically receive a digital daily career update to their Schulich inbox. This newsletter features industry news, recruiting updates, and a career tip of the day.

Job postings
Students are encouraged to check Handshake regularly for newly posted opportunities.

Virtual Coffee with the CDC
Drop in and connect with the CDC team each Friday at 11:00 am via Zoom to discuss any career related questions or concerns you may have. No registration needed – the Zoom link will be emailed to students in advance weekly.

Events and Workshops
The CDC team is organizing virtual career development workshops. Additionally, some employers are hosting virtual information sessions targeted to Schulich students. Please check Handshake regularly for updates.
