• Graduate Ambassador Program

Bridging the GAP to Schulich's Student Experience.

The Graduate Ambassador Program (or “GAP”) is an exclusive opportunity for Schulich graduate students to gain new connections and build your leadership and communication skills – all while sharing your experience with prospective and admitted students!

Ambassadors have the opportunity to connect one-on-one with prospective students, organize class visits and building tours, as well as engage with the next generation of Schulich at admissions and networking events. There is no strict time-commitment for this program, but we look for highly motivated students seeking to actively engage with the program and grow outside of the classroom.

Does this sound like you? Then apply to the program below!

If at any point you have questions or concerns, you can always contact events@schulich.yorku.ca.

Becoming a Graduate Ambassador

  • Why should I become an ambassador? Why should I become an ambassador?

Graduate Ambassadors are pivotal to the success of the events and recruitment efforts that take place year-round. This is an amazing opportunity to engage with the Schulich community and gain new and unexpected connections. Throughout the year, you may be invited to attend admissions and networking events – see a full list below!

Each Spring, we hold a final event to celebrate the Ambassadors who have helped bridge the GAP to Schulich’s student experience. Ambassadors who have made significant contributions all year receive a certificate noting their participation.

How do I become an ambassador? How do I become an ambassador?

To become a graduate ambassador, please indicate your interest using the form below. Once we have received your submission, you will receive a link to a questionnaire so we can learn more about your background and interest in the program.

Events

Experience Schulich

View details Hide details

Experience Schulich is our marquee Open House event which takes place twice a year and plays a critical role in drawing new talent to the student mix.

This day-long event usually draws between 150-300 prospective candidates, who get to take part in networking sessions with current students and Professors, experience sample master-classes, speak with various departments at Schulich (eg., CDC, Financial Aid) and listen to Alumni talk about their experiences.

Given the scale of this event, Graduate Ambassadors are essential to keep the various sessions running smoothly, as well as for representing Schulich at networking events. Your insights about Schulich’s program and the student experience can have a strong impact on candidates trying to gauge their fit at Schulich. As a result, many candidates are also more likely to apply to and accept their Offer of Admission from Schulich after attending this event.

Experience Schulich Dates:

Fall Semester: TDB

Winter Semester: TDB

If you are interested in taking part in this event, please email events@schulich.yorku.ca. An email will also be sent to all active graduate ambassadors.

Webinars and Info Sessions

Schulich’s recruiters organize Webinars and online sessions on a regular basis because they are a good way for prospective students to get an overview of the programs at Schulich. Using Adobe Connect, our recruiters are able to connect with 5-30 candidates online and provide them with information about program curriculum, student life, and application processes.

In the past, students have taken part in webinars to share their experiences, giving candidates a holistic understanding of what to expect during their time at Schulich.

You can find a list of upcoming webinars under the “Graduate Admissions Events” Quick Link.

MBA Fairs

QS Connect, Access MBA and World MBA Tour are some of the fairs that travel internationally and very often, Schulich travels with them! Our recruiters have voyaged through Latin America, Asia and Europe to recruit exceptional candidates for Schulich. When these tours have a stop in Toronto, having current students help represent Schulich at its booth provides a strong advantage.

These tours allows candidates to meet with and assess multiple Business schools at the same time. Therefore, giving prospective students the admissions insight along with the opportunity to talk to a current student makes a big difference.

You can find a list of all MBA Fairs Schulich will be attending under the “Graduate Admissions Events” Quick Link.
