Recruitment Programs

The Career Development Centre can work with you to help you achieve your on-campus recruitment goals.

Graduate Recruitment

Graduate Recruitment is focused on entry or junior level, full-time permanent and contract opportunities for our undergraduate and graduate students, completing their studies in the current academic year. Students graduate from the Schulich School of Business during two convocation periods throughout the course of the academic school year:

  • Fall (November)
  • Winter (February)
  • Spring (June)

The majority of our graduate recruitment activity takes place between September and October. We recommend recruiters plan their hiring for this time to ensure they can successfully compete for candidates they are seeking. We can, however, accommodate graduate recruitment needs up to convocation the following June.

The following options are available when coordinating your graduate recruitment needs:

  • Information Sessions
  • Job Postings
  • On-Campus Interviews

To coordinate your graduate recruitment needs, please contact Your CDC Account Manager.

The following options are available when coordinating your internship and summer recruitment needs:

  • Information Sessions

Internship Recruitment Timetable

In all instances, to properly address year round internships, or internships lasting longer than 4 months, we recommend posting opportunities 6 months prior to the employment start date to allow students time to make the appropriate arrangements and to ensure success in your recruitment efforts.

MBA/IMBA: Due to the flexibility of Schulich’s MBA level programs, our students are able to pursue internship opportunities year round. For this reason, we are able to help you fill Internship opportunities that take place at any point throughout the year, with durations from 2 to 16 months.

BBA/iBBA: Undergraduate students are often interested in year round internship opportunities as well, however, the demands of the BBA and iBBA programs require special arrangements be made to pursue internships that take place outside of the summer term. We recommend posting year round internships early to allow students to make the necessary arrangements. Summer Internships, however, do align well with undergraduate’s academic calendars.

International Business Internships in Canada and Abroad

International MBA (IMBA) students complete international internships as part of their program of study, which also includes international business courses, a second language specialization, and a regional specialization. These internships, called the IMBA Work Term, take place in the student’s region of study (i.e. North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Europe, and India) from May to August or from September to December. To find out more about how you and your organization could benefit from hosting an IMBA Work Term student, please contact the IMBA Department at imba@schulich.yorku.ca.

Unpaid Internships

In preparation for the planned Ontario legislation (see Bill 170), York University no longer endorses unpaid Internships unless they are a compulsory component of a formalized study program.

Summer Recruitment Time-line

The majority of internships are 4 months in duration and tend to take place during the summer term (May to August). The posting of summer internships begins during the Fall term and continues through to the beginning of the Summer term the following year.
