Robert Hines, JD
Profile: Robert Hines is the Executive Director of the Career Development Centre at the Schulich School of Business, York University.
Mr. Hines has held a number of senior leadership roles in the executive search industry including: Managing Partner, Canada, Heidrick & Struggles (Toronto), Managing Partner, Global Operations, Heidrick & Struggles (Chicago) and Senior Advisor to the Board Services practice of Korn Ferry Canada.
Before joining the executive search industry, Mr. Hines held a number of senior leadership positions in investment banking including: President and Chief Executive Officer, Credit Suisse Canada; Vice-Chairman, Merrill Lynch Canada and Managing Director, CIBC World Markets.
Mr. Hines is Chair of the Independent Review Committee of Mackenzie Investments Mutual Funds. He is also a member of the International Advisory Council of the Schulich School of Business.
Mr. Hines began his career practicing law with Aird & Berlis where he specialized in corporate finance and securities law. He completed his undergraduate studies at York University and received his JD from the University of Windsor.
Minoo Bhutani, MBA, ACC
Profile: Minoo has 18 years of experience, 12 in Banking and Accounting, including having worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers, TD Securities and Scotia Capital in Canada, and a leading securities company in India. A CA finalist, he also has a BAS in Finance from York University, and an MBA in International Finance. Minoo is a Board member of the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce, as well as an Executive Board member and Treasurer of the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE). Minoo was previously a member of Serve Canada, a youth development organization. He also has a certificate in Coaching, Business Career Counselling and Assessment and Behavioural Interview Skills.
Minoo is responsible for directing all internal aspects of the Career Development Centre and the Graduate & Internship recruiting process, ranging from student relations, counselling, workshops, events and clubs. He is involved on the external front with organizations and alumni in promoting the school.
Lyla Korhani, MBA, ACC
Associate Director, Industry Advising
Profile: Lyla has over 12 years of experience in various industries and currently manages the ‘Industry Advising’ portfolio at the Schulich Career Development Centre. Her work consists of developing strategies for the unit and managing student advising and employer/recruiter relations. In addition, Lyla leads the ‘Careers in Marketing’ portfolio – advising both MBAs and undergraduate business students on careers in marketing & consumer packaged goods. Lyla’s past marketing experience includes working with corporate leaders within the CPG and publishing industry. Specifically, Lyla has experience working in the food industry at Nestle Canada and in publishing at Harlequin Enterprises developing branding strategies and executing marketing plans for her respective brands on a national level. She also has global experience, and completed internships for Dresdner Bank and Lufthansa in Germany. Lyla graduated from the Schulich School of Business MBA program in 2001, specializing in Marketing and Finance and has undergraduate degrees from the University of Ottawa and Simon Fraser University.
Phanindra Deonandan, MPA, ACC
Profile: Phanindra has over 15 years of teaching, training and facilitation experience in Canada, Japan and the US. She holds a BA and B. Ed from the University of Toronto, a TESL Certificate from Humber College, and an MPA from Queen’s University. She was based in Miami for over four years as the Regional Education Manager responsible for training all staff in North America and the Caribbean region in airports, in-flight and cruise-lines for Clinique, Estee Lauder Companies. Prior to that, Phanindra supervised the student internship program for an international language school in Toronto, and she worked in Japan as an English instructor for five years.

Kathrin Bohr, MBA
Public Sector, Sustainability, Government, Arts & Media
Profile: With fifteen years’ experience working in the field of CSR & sustainability, Kathrin is a highly respected professional who has worked with some of Canada’s and the international community’s leading companies, non-profit organizations and government agencies.
She is a Senior Partner with Stakeholder Research Associates (SRA) and prior to joining SRA held the position of Director, Sustainability Solutions at Intertek, an international supply chain services firm where she managed global CSR programs for notable companies such as McDonald’s. As Vice President at the non-profit Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR) Kathrin advanced the CSR movement in Canada and worked with companies such as Hudson’s Bay, Loblaw, Walmart, Ontario Power Generation, RBC, CIBC, Scotiabank and EDC to assist them with CSR strategy development, implementation and communication.
Kathrin has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business with a specialization in Sustainability and International Business and an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in History and Political Science with a minor in Italian Studies. Kathrin is our client and student career advisor for the Public Sector, Sustainability, Government and Arts & Media.
Victoria Cabral, BSc.
Financial Services, Insurance and Real Property
Profile: Prior to joining Schulich’s CDC Team, Vicky lead the Technology Consulting campus recruitment program at Accenture and more recently, supported RBC’s campus recruitment needs for their Functions, Insurance, and Capital Markets businesses.
As the Financial Services Industry Advisor, she works closely with the student body to equip them with the tools they need to excel in their career search journey. She is also the point of contact for select employers in the Financial Services industry and serves as a partner to support them with their recruitment needs. Vicky is our client and student career advisor for Financial Services, Insurance and Real Property students.
Diana Caradonna, BHRM, ACC
Accounting and MAcc Students
Profile: Diana has 8 years of experience in Human Resources, having worked for Imperial Life Financial, Air Canada, Manpower and Adecco Financial Staffing. She graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Human Resources Management, and with a Diploma in Human Resources Administration, with a certificate in Adult Education/Staff Training from Seneca College. Diana is our client and student career advisor for Accounting and MAcc students.
Mark Freedman, MBA
Consulting and Case Preparation
Profile: Mark is a Co-founder of Elite Sport Systems, a company dedicated to helping athletes achieve new levels of excellence in sport, and is a recent MBA graduate of the Schulich School of Business, with a specialization in Strategy & Consulting. He holds a Bachelors of Biological and Computer Sciences from the University of Western Ontario. In his past, Mark worked with Accenture as a Consultant MBA Intern in Financial Services. Prior to his role with Accenture, Mark spent the 2 years applying his analytic, technical, and interpersonal skills across dynamic functions in his role as a Technical Specialist Business Intelligence for the Bank of Montreal. Mark is our client and career student advisor for Consulting and Case Preparation.
Paul Irwin, CHRP
Profile: Paul Irwin, CHRP, has sound experience in the retail, manufacturing, service and healthcare industries in union and non-union environments. Paul has been successful in working with executives, leaders and owners in understanding core issues and recommending solutions or by acting as a process person to attain results to improve productivity related to “people capital”. Paul has a proven track record in managing and strengthening merged, restructured and growth organizations. Mr. Irwin’s learning and experience has been gained through: Planning, leading and implementing a continuous improvement process; Designing and realigning human resource processes to match new company culture; Training and leading pilot and project teams; Becoming a professional business coach; Creating positive and flexible work environments and Working and communicating with employees at all levels. Paul is our client and student career advisor for Heathcare.
Lisa Keenan, MBA, BBA, CHRL
Profile: Lisa brings 15 years of experience in public accounting, construction, mining, back-office banking, public service and manufacturing. She began her career in public accounting before transitioning to corporate recruiting. She has worked for KPMG, Lafarge, Symcor, EllisDon, GE Canada, Kinross Gold, WSIB and SNC-Lavalin.
Lisa graduated from Schulich’s BBA program in 2000, with a specialization in Accounting, obtained her Certified Human Resources Professional Leader (CHRL) designation and is a MBA graduate from Warwick Business School.
Amir Khan, BA, ACC
Consumer Packaged Goods, Marketing, Retail and MMgt Students
Profile: Amir graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Amir entered the Retail Executive Program at Hudson’s Bay Company and served as HR Manager for two years after working with HBC for several years on a part-time basis. He transitioned to the NFP sector as an Employment Advisor and Placement Specialist for JobSkills Canada. Amir is our client and student career advisor for Consumer Packaged Goods, Marketing, Retail and MMgt students.
Mike Nadal, ACC
Banking and MF Students
Profile: Mike brings over 14 years of experience in financial services, asset management and wealth management, having worked at AIM Trimark, ING Direct, and for the last six years as Vice President at Tricycle Asset Management and Patient Capital Management. Students will appreciate Mike’s breadth and depth of experience. Mike is our client and student career advisor for Banking and MF students.
Bonnie Wong, BCom, CHRL
Consumer Packaged Goods, Marketing, Telecommunications, Technology and Entrepreneurship
Profile: Bonnie brings her marketing and recruitment experience to help students market their skills to potential employers, having worked at Desjardins Insurance, State Farm, Invesco Canada and a financial technology company. As a recruiting analyst at a Fortune 50 company, she launched the employer branding campaign and trained recruiters in US and Canada to source passive candidates. As a recruiter, she consulted hiring managers and developed the strategy to attract talent with diverse business experience.
Bonnie graduated from the University of Toronto, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. She also attained her Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation. Bonnie is our client and student career advisor for Consumer Packaged Goods, Marketing, Telecommunications, Technology and Entrepreneurship.
Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director
Profile: Michelle holds a BA and B.Ed. with a Fine Arts Specialization from York University and a TESL certificate from Global Leadership College. Prior to joining the Career Development Centre at the Schulich School of Business, Michelle worked with the Registrar’s Office and the Text Department at the University Bookstore. She worked 10 years in a Program Administrator role as an Arts Camp Director and is experienced in curriculum building, instructing and facilitating. She continues to work within the arts community as a certified Dance Instructor. As the Assistant to the Executive Director, Michelle is responsible for the coordination of business development meetings, Advisory Board Dinners and client/Alumni liaising in Toronto, New York, Palo Alto and London.
Sybil Massey, BA
Team Lead, Operations & On-line Resources
Profile: Sybil obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, with a concentration in Gender and Families from York University. Sybil coordinates the CDC’s Graduate and Internship Recruitment program and brings with her experience in event planning and project management. As a liaison between employers, CDC Account Managers and students, Sybil coordinates company information sessions, graduate and internship career opportunities, on-campus interviews, and the development of internal CDC communication materials and publications. Additionally, Sybil is involved with the coordination and maintenance of the visitor, recruiter and student Career Portals on the Career Development Centre’s website.
Khushbu Chokshi, BAS
Assistance to Recruitment Programs
Profile: Khushbu received her Bachelors of Administrative Studies with a Professional Certificate in Human Resources from York University. Prior to joining the Career Development Centre (CDC) at the Schulich School of Business, Khushbu worked with the Department of Music and Human Resources at University, as well as with the Ministry of Labour. Khushbu assists with the Graduate and Internship recruitment portfolios, expense reconciliation, and provides administration support to the Director and Executive Director of the CDC.
Rose Lucibello, BA
Events and Communication
Profile: Rose graduated from York University with a BA in Sociology and Psychology. In addition to having several years of customer service experience in the retail industry, Rose has provided excellent service to York students working within the Faculty of Arts Advising Centre and the York University Career Centre. Rose coordinates internal events such as Career Day, the Summer & Internship Fair, the Financial Services Luncheon, the Recruiter Roundtable, the Industry Advising Breakfast Series, Career Fridays, and any additional CDC networking events. Rose also coordinates CDC outgoing communication for student and corporate clients.
Career Centre Assistant
Front Line Operations
Profile: Michelle’s professional experience spans over 10 years, providing administrative support and customer service while working in the health care, and travel and tourism industries. Michelle coordinated patient and client services with organizations such as The Hospital for Sick Children and Lester B. Pearson Airport. Additionally, Michelle obtained her Diploma from Seneca College in the Travel and Tourism Program.
As the first point of contact for the Schulich Career Development Centre, Michelle coordinates front line operations and provides excellent customer service to students, alumni, recruiters and guests. As part of the CDC Operations Team, she further schedules industry advising appointments for students, oversees the Centre’s primary email accounts, and is involved with recruitment information sessions and events.
