“My time at Schulich was a multicultural experience that allowed me to find professional confidence, and added breadth to my perspective and experience.”

What interested me in the MBA program: I wanted to get a more comprehensive business training in order to make the transition to marketing strategy and planning. Since I already had advertising background, I chose to take a wide breadth of courses to expand my knowledge base (from entrepreneurship to strategy to innovation).
Flexibility of the Schulich MBA: I decided to switch to part-time to give me more flexibility in second year as I was planning on doing the exchange in last semester. It gave me the ability to progress in my studies in the summer, and not have a heavy load while finishing the 601 project in the fall. The process was very straightforward, and was key to maintaining a school/life balance during the busiest times.
One thing I learned about myself at Schulich: I learned that I can work well in ambiguous situations, and can handle change well.
One stand-out course or project: I love taking Brand Management with Ashley Konson – he is incredibly inspiring, and his course while instructive teaches you transferrable skills that can be applied to any role in Marketing (and likely beyond).
One piece of advice to incoming MBA students: Be hungry, and say yes to every opportunity that comes your way, whether it’s volunteering, an event or a project – you never know where it can lead.
Beyond the classroom
During my MBA at Schulich I …
- developed strategic thinking skills
- went on exchange in Paris
- mentored undergraduate students through my role with Women in Leadership
“The Schulich environment is full of camaraderie, fully supportive and collaborative.”
