About Steve Ord
Steve Ord joined White Pine pictures as their Chief Operating Officer in 2012 where he is responsible for the continued implementation of the strategic plan that has guided the Toronto indie to international success in the production of TV dramas and documentaries.
Steve has more than 20 years of management experience in the private and public sectors. As former Executive Vice President of Alliance Atlantis’ Entertainment Group, he was involved with the successful Crime Scene Investigation franchise series (CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY), the children’s business, and the extensive TV and film library of approximately 5,000 hours of programming. Previously, Steve was Executive Vice President of the Alliance Atlantis Entertainment Group, where he was responsible for all business aspects of the Company’s TV and motion picture production business. He was also an Executive Producer on the popular and Gemini award winning drama series Cold Squad (98 episodes produced). Prior to working at ACC, Ord was Manager of Business Affairs at Telefilm Canada’s Toronto Office.
Steve was an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Film and Television Production Association (2001 through to 2005) and was Chair of the Association’s Tax and Finance Committee, he currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Independent Production Fund as their Vice-Chair and a member of the Finance Committee.
In 1995, he authored “Financing Your Production”, a chapter in Making It: The Business of Film and Television Production in Canada published by Doubleday Canada Limited in association with the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
